True free range eggs. The Godiva Chocolate of the egg industry. Something you will not find on a supermarket shelf!!
Older pictures. We now have some buff and white cross breed hens and black cross breed hens and a pair of quaint silky roosters. A white and a red. We also have our hen mascot, a bantam hen, Mille Fleur d Uccle.
Have you ever seen the yolk of a naturally raised, free range hen egg? That deep dark golden orange color, not the pale yellow of cage raised or barn raised store bought eggs. I have heard wonderful comments from people who have purchased my eggs and the difference in not only the taste and texture of them but in the wonderful color they bring to baked goods. Once you have tasted a true free range egg you will not go back to the blah cage raised hen eggs. Aberdale's chickens are 100% naturally raised and naturally housed free range happy hens. A happy hen produces wonderful eggs. Have you ever seen a hen scratching around in the dirt, finding something truly delicious to eat and call all the other hens around her over for a looksee before she gobbles it down?? Have you ever seen a flock of hens having a dust bath an then bask around on their sides enjoying the suns rays? These are my free range hens. Doing what hens were meant to do and actually enjoying life!! Our small flock of 15 assorted hens are allowed free choice scratch grains and corn and full time access to the entire farm. This allows them to wander about at their own will where ever they decide they want to go, eating what ever they decide they would like to eat, occasionally enjoying some dinner left overs or crusts of bread or tomato scraps or apples (they LOVE apples), looking for tasty morsels that go into the makeup of their delicious eggs. Eggs contain the highest quality food protein known. It is
second only to mother's milk for human nutrition.
(this hen was a rescue and came with no
feathers on her body in the middle of winter, needless to say she has become
quite the pet) Free range hen eggs available in limited quantities. Occasionally through the summer when I have a hen go broody I will have some extra free range chicks available as well. contact Heather for more info aberdale@execulink.com |
